Paul Carlini studied with Vittorio Gavioli, Marco Costantini, Klaus Thunemann. He is the First Solo Bassoon of the Orchestra della Toscana and collaborates in this role with the orchestras of the Teatro alla Scala, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro dell' Opera in Rome, Teatro Comunale in Bologna and Filarmonica della Scala playing under the baton of the most important conductors of our time Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Myung-Whun Chung, Daniel Harding, Esa Pekka Salonen, and many others. Soloist in the most important repertoire for bassoon and orchestra alongside conductors H.Soudant,G.Ferro,C.Scimone,D.Renzetti,Lu Jia,D.Rustioni,A.Battistoni,M.Angius,L.Pfaff,M.Bosch,M.Sieghart,Z.Hamar,A.Schneider,Y.Scharowsky,K.De Roo.
In the field of chamber music he has collaborated with musicians such as Janine Jansen, Julian Raclin, Massimo Quarta, Pavel Vernikov, Alain Meunier, Bruno Canino, Alessandro Specchi, Pietro De Maria, Hansiorg Schellenberger, Francois Leleux, Antony Pay playing at the most important musical centers in the world Carnegie Hall in New York, Mozarteum in Salzburg, Auditorio Nacional Madrid, KKL Lucerne, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Conservatory of Tel Aviv, Concert Hall in Tokyo and Hong-Kong. Always engaged in contemporary music his research activity has determined a considerable development of the solo repertoire for bassoon. Paolo Carlini is in fact the dedicatee of solo works by eminent composers belonging to different languages and generations: Azio Corghi, Ivan Fedele, Marcello Panni, Luis De Pablo, Ennio Morricone, Luis Bacalov, Ludovico Einaudi, Carlo Boccadoro, Alessandro Solbiati, Pasquale Corrado, Giorgio Gaslini, Claudio Ambrosini, Nicola Sani, Carlo Galante, Marco Tutino, Paolo Vivaldi, David Winkler, Gerard Drozd, Mateo Soto, Dimitri Nicolau, Johnterryl Plumeri. He has made numerous recordings as a soloist for Sony Classical, CPO, Chandos, Naxos, Brilliant, Tactus, EMA Records, Stradivarius, Amadeus. He is regularly invited to hold advanced courses and masterclasses at New York University, Ural Music College in Yekaterinburg, the Conservatories of Lyon, Geneva, Lausanne, Seville, Rostov on Don, Kazan. He teaches bassoon at the P. Mascagni Conservatory in Livorno.
Joseph Barutti He began his studies under the guidance of Maestro Adriano Vendramelli, between the ages of eleven and fourteen he won three consecutive times with special mention at the Vittorio Veneto and Biella Competitions. At sixteen he joined I Solisti Veneti, of which he was First Cello, and at only twenty-one he won the position of First Cello in the Orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice; subsequently he devoted himself to chamber music and collaborated with the most prestigious names on the international scene such as Salvatore Accardo, Bruno Giuranna, Rocco Filippini. He was First Cello of the Filarmonica della Scala in Milan, and in I Solisti Veneti he played a fundamental role in the performance of solo concerts for cello and orchestra. Lorin Maazel defined him as “one of the greatest Italian talents”. His solo and chamber recordings for various multinational companies are countless.
