Giuseppe Barutti

He began his studies under the guidance of Maestro Adriano Vendramelli, between the ages of eleven and fourteen he won three consecutive times with special mention at the Vittorio Veneto and Biella Competitions. At sixteen he joined I Solisti Veneti, of which he was First Cello, and at only twenty-one he won the position of First Cello in the Orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice; subsequently he devoted himself to chamber music and collaborated with the most prestigious names on the international scene such as Salvatore Accardo, Bruno Giuranna, Rocco Filippini. He was First Cello of the Filarmonica della Scala in Milan, and in I Solisti Veneti he played a fundamental role in the performance of solo concerts for cello and orchestra. Lorin Maazel defined him as "one of the greatest Italian talents". His solo and chamber recordings for various multinational companies are countless.
