ROBERTO GIACCAGLIA, bassoon: He was Principal Bassoon at the Gran Teatro la Fenice in Venice for twenty years and has held the same role at the BBC Philharmonic since 2017. He is a member of the Bibiena Quintet with which he has won numerous national and international awards. As a soloist he has performed Vivaldi's Bassoon Concertos in the most prestigious venues in the world. He has collaborated as Principal Bassoon with many important orchestras around the world and since 1993 he has been Principal Bassoon and Solo Bassoon of I Solisti Veneti. He has regularly made radio and television broadcasts as well as recordings. Since 2019 he has been Professor of Bassoon at the Royal College of Music in London. He has held master classes at numerous Italian and international institutes.
