Antonella Defrenza

Born in 1995, she graduated in 2014 from the “Niccolò Piccinni” Conservatory in Bari, under the guidance of Maestro Gemma Loseto, with top marks and graduated in 2016 in a two-year specialist course in solo music at the “Nino Rota” Conservatory in Monopoli under the guidance of Maestro Lucio Degani with a grade of 110/110 and honors. He has participated in numerous national and international competitions, obtaining the First Absolute Prizes at the Rassegna Giovanissimi Talenti in Trani (uninterruptedly from 2005 to 2010), at the Luigi Russo National Music Competition in Monopoli in 2006, at the Gian Franco Lupo National Competition in Matera in 2008, at the Van Westerhout National Competition in Mola di Bari in 2008, at the Igor Stravinsky National Competition in Valenzano in 2008 and 2010, at the Igor Stravinsky National Competition in Valenzano (Second Prize) in 2011, at the San Nicola Giovani European Competition in Bari in 2008 (first prize ex-equo) with a relative scholarship offered by the Presidency of the Province of Bari, at the Città di Barletta International Competition from 2009 to 2011, at the Guido da Venosa International Competition in Sannicandro di Bari in 2012, at the Igor Stravinsky National Competition in Valenzano in 2013, at the Igor Stravinsky National Competition in Valenzano in 2014, at the Igor Stravinsky European Competition in Bari in 2015, at the Igor Stravinsky International Competition in Bari in 2016, at the Igor Stravinsky International Competition in Bari in 2017, at the Igor Stravinsky International Competition in Bari in 2018, at the Igor Stravinsky International Competition in Bari in 2019, at the Igor Stravinsky International Competition in Bari in 2020, at the Igor Stravinsky International Competition in Bari in 2021, at the Igor Stravinsky International Competition in Bari in 2022, at the Igor Stravinsky International Competition in Bari in 2023, at the Igor Stravinsky International Competition in Bari in 2024, at the Igor Stravinsky International Competition in Bari in 2025, at the Igor Stravinsky International Competition in Bari in 2026, 2009 and 2010, Euterpe International Competition in 2011, Third International Competition Eurorchestra Nuovi Interpreti (Second Prize) in 2011. In 2008 she participated and won national and international competitions in chamber duo such as the European Competition San Nicola Giovani in Bari, the National Competition Igor Stravinsky in Valenzano, Rassegna Giovanissimi Talenti in Trani, the National Competition Van Westerhout in Mola di Bari, the National Competition Gian Franco Lupo in Matera. She perfected her skills with the Masters: Ilya Grubert, Felix Ayo, Sonig Tchakerian, Cristiano Rossi, Dejan Bogdanovich, with the Quartetto della Scala and with Anna Serova (chamber music) performing in concert as First violin with the Nino Rota quintet. She has collaborated as a concertmaster of the First violins with the Symphony Orchestra of the Metropolitan City of Bari, the Orchestra of the Teatro Verdi of Trieste, with the Accademia d'Archi Arrigoni and with the Nuova Orchestra da Camera Ferruccio Busoni. In 2017 she participated in the Academy of I Solisti Veneti on the performance of Venetian Music, performing as a soloist both in the final evening and in the award concert, winning a scholarship dedicated to women. Since 2018 she has collaborated with I Solisti Veneti.
